Object Manager: custom objects, fields and picklists
Build your own data model: creating custom objects, adding custom fields, managing picklists and tab visibility.
What is the Object Manager?
Setup > Object Manager is the control center of your org's data model: view the fields of standard objects and create custom objects and fields.
Creating a custom object
- Click New Object in the Object Manager.
- Set the name (singular/plural), which app it belongs to and tab visibility. Without an app it appears under Platform360 (always on in every org).
- Add your fields; the object instantly becomes available in tabs, global search, reports and flows.
Example: an events company can create a custom "Festival" object with city, date and capacity fields and manage every event from Ohana360.
Field types
| Type | Example |
|---|---|
| Text / Long text | Notes, description |
| Number / Currency | Amount, quantity |
| Date / Date-time | Due date, appointment time |
| Picklist | Status, category |
| Checkbox | Active? |
| Lookup | Linked account, owner |
| Formula / Rollup | Calculated values, child record totals |
Picklists
- Add, reorder and deactivate values under Setup > Picklists.
- When you rename a value (✎), the values on existing records are updated in the same operation.
Limit: Renaming does not update the old text inside saved view filters or flow conditions; review those definitions.
Field history tracking
Enable history tracking on important fields: who changed what and when is answered by the Field History card on the record page.
